Wow... it sure has been a long time since I've blogged about anything! Everything has been great and this winter semester has been so much fun!
My roommate and I are closer than ever and we've been having a blast together. I can't even begin to tell you how lucky I am to have her! She's always there when I'm losing my mind and laughs until it hurts at 1 am. Oh Summer, what will I do without you??
We love each other so much. She's the best when it comes to helping me get ready for the dates I'm nervous for.
Speaking of those nervous dates..... On January 22, I went on a "first date" with a cute guy in my Biology class. I was so nervous and just knew he was the cutest, and tallest guy ever! Michael Yeck, a BYU football player.
So for our first date we went to Walmart and got some food to go back to fist apartment and make tacos. We had a great time and just got to know each other better. To say the least we hit it off, at least I hoped so at the time.
Cue: Awkward first date photo.... It was one of the best nights ever.
The next morning I texted him saying I had a great time, what was his reply you ask??
"Word, see ya monday." To say the least I was sure he hated me and had a horrible time. I mean 'word'? Who says that??
That night I called him and asked if he really wanted to go to the San Diego State game and that I could get him a ticket but I had to know right away. He said he'd love to go so I knew we had a second date.
We had to sit in line for hours just to get our wrist bands in order to get back in line the next day for the game. I arrived at the line at 4:30 am. It was a long morning and it started snowing. McKaylee and I had a great time together and with all of the other line-friends we met. If was freezing cold but so worth it!
Mike came and met us to stand in line. The line turned into a pack of hungry cougars wanting their chance at a seat to see the Jimmer show. While shivering in my show soaked hair, Mike stood with his hands in his pockets and just talked to me. I know it was only our 2nd date-ish (if you can call standing in the snow a date) but I just wanted him to keep me warm. :) We got our passes and left each other to seek warmer areas with plans of going to the game tomorrow.
McKaylee and I went to get food, when we looked at each other we realized how sad we actually looked. Ragged on the outside, bursting with excitement on the inside. It was a day I'll remember forever!
Later that night my amazing cousin invited me to Yogurtland, in Salt Lake. Yes, we drove from Provo to SLC for frozen yogurt. The night after I stood in like for 6+ hours. It was a blast and she's the greatest. (I'm so sad you've left me Dani!)
The game the next day was amazing but was preceeded by a lot of line sitting, some Costa Vida for dinner (on the ground in line), and crazy fans!
In case you were under a rock during that week the Cougars WON! It was a great game and Jimmer showed up the Aztecs. I don't know if I've ever had so much fun at a basketball game. Michael saw a different side of me that night but I guess he liked it because we had a great time that night.
He walked me home that night and I swear I was the happiest girl ever. I wasn't sure when I'd see him again but I knew we both wanted it to be soon. It was the most fun I'd ever had.
To make a long story short (I know, too late), we started dating and have been to gether ever since. He takes great care of me and we love each other like crazy! Right after we got together he got really sick. I figured I had to take good care of him and went in to doting girlfriend meets nurse mode. Some gross broken barriers later (sweat covered jeans), he made it and was semi healthy again.
Valentine's day was so much fun. He gave me a dozen roses and wrote "Word" on the card. Apparently he thought it was that frustrating text which won my heart. :) We went to aunt P's empty house in Draper and made dinner and watched a movie, "P.S. I love you". I pulled out all the stops on picking a cheesy movie. Our whole lives revolved around each other. We had a blast being on campus together every day.
Then Mike got sick... again. Turns out it was Mono, I promise I didn't give it to him!
For the first time in a long time we weren't together every moment possible so I actually hung out with some other friends.
We went to the top of the SWKT. At 12 stories high it is the highest building in Provo and was to fun looking over the campus. No we didn't throw anything off the top, although we did think about it.
I got to meet Mike's dad and some of his extended family and it was great. They are the nicest people and we had so much fun together. A few weeks later my parents came into town to meet him. They love him and love how happy I am with him. :)
Mike got worse and worse. He missed a whole week of classes and practices. He was on some serious pills for the pain and a bunch of other things. I forced him to drink Throat Coat, which is just about the grossest herbal tea ever. He was a good patient and choked it down.
He still loved me even though I made him drink nasty things. This was a good day when he didn't feel like he was going to die.
He tried to share his mono with me, not the nicest things to do and I'm definitely feeling it now!
First semester was fun but doesn't compare to the last 3 months of my life. :) I can't even believe how much thing have changed and how great things are.
