The end of something amazing, the start of something fantastic!

I moved into the dorms 238 days ago and it has been my home through a great time in my life. I met my best friends, learned how to NOT study, became the person I am now, and fell in love here.

I found the best roommate ever and she became my
best friend. Summer, you'll never know how much
I love you!

This girl is there for me through anything, literally.
I can't imagine what this year would have been without her.
McKaylee: You amaze me daily.

Kru3: Those first few months of school would have been
far from exciting without you.
Squaw Peak, Trips to Alpine, Breakfast, Birthday Parties
and Sleepless Nights.

Becoming obsessed with everything BYU.
Thanks to Cougar United, I had the most amazing
year being involved with the teams.

And just come ridiculous times with people in our
room... Most of them thanks to Emilee Crowder!

Getting ready for dates, some of the most exciting and
hilarious times ever.

Those nervous dates turning into falling in love.
I'm getting married to Michael Yeck and know
it's the best decision I'll ever make.

Moving into Taylor 1209 on August 22, 2010 was one of the best days on my life. Little did I know everything would change this year. I have to say moving all of my stuff out today made for an emotional night. I will never forget the memories we made here and the friends I'll have forever.
We're all going on to unknown experiences and challenges. Come what may, it's going to be so much fun!

Thanks to all of you!

Word: I love you!

So remember how my last post was about my life since the semester started but it just seemed to focus on this one person? Well that's for really good reason:
Michael and I are engaged!

We're getting married on the 7th of July. 77 is Mike's football number. So that's the day we're getting hitched in hopes that he won't forget our anniversary if he wears it on his back once a week for 4 years.

This was in the works for a while but Mike had to go home and chat with my parents about things first. We were pretty sure they were going to say yes... but they basically needed to tell him that I'm crazy sometimes and see if he was up for the task. So after their chat, he went to priesthood session of conference and listened to President Monson's talk about marriage, keep in mind he's sitting in between my brother and dad. My brother whispering pseudo-intimidating things and my dad just thoughtfully listening. Meanwhile from Texas his dad is texting him that the Prophet is thrashing him for not asking yet. Oh that poor guy... good thing he already had the whole thing planned out.

So the little bugger told me the ring was still at the store and wouldn't be done until after we were back in Provo so I was just going along my day without a thought that anything was going to happen. After dinner on Saturday we went for a drive in my truck to overlook Boise. We were talking about my family and our future when he said some great things, that he knows I love, and asked me to marry him. He'd done this before but just not officially so I said yes and kissed him and then I felt him slide the most beautiful ring on my finger. I've never been so happy.

So that's our plan for the summer. We both just can't wait to be done with finals and everything school related. On Tuesday we head to North Carolina to be with his family for a week. I can't even begin to tell you how excited we are! I've heard it's beautiful and he has so many memories there. We just have to make it through the next 3 days (yes, I'm counting down).

Just yesterday a friend of ours in Biology asked if we were getting married. When we said yes he got so excited because he could claim that he was there when it all began. I can't wait to marry the most amazing man I've ever met.

2nd Semester

Wow... it sure has been a long time since I've blogged about anything! Everything has been great and this winter semester has been so much fun!
My roommate and I are closer than ever and we've been having a blast together. I can't even begin to tell you how lucky I am to have her! She's always there when I'm losing my mind and laughs until it hurts at 1 am. Oh Summer, what will I do without you??
We love each other so much. She's the best when it comes to helping me get ready for the dates I'm nervous for.

Speaking of those nervous dates..... On January 22, I went on a "first date" with a cute guy in my Biology class. I was so nervous and just knew he was the cutest, and tallest guy ever! Michael Yeck, a BYU football player.
So for our first date we went to Walmart and got some food to go back to fist apartment and make tacos. We had a great time and just got to know each other better. To say the least we hit it off, at least I hoped so at the time.

Cue: Awkward first date photo.... It was one of the best nights ever.
The next morning I texted him saying I had a great time, what was his reply you ask??
"Word, see ya monday." To say the least I was sure he hated me and had a horrible time. I mean 'word'? Who says that??
That night I called him and asked if he really wanted to go to the San Diego State game and that I could get him a ticket but I had to know right away. He said he'd love to go so I knew we had a second date.

We had to sit in line for hours just to get our wrist bands in order to get back in line the next day for the game. I arrived at the line at 4:30 am. It was a long morning and it started snowing. McKaylee and I had a great time together and with all of the other line-friends we met. If was freezing cold but so worth it!

Mike came and met us to stand in line. The line turned into a pack of hungry cougars wanting their chance at a seat to see the Jimmer show. While shivering in my show soaked hair, Mike stood with his hands in his pockets and just talked to me. I know it was only our 2nd date-ish (if you can call standing in the snow a date) but I just wanted him to keep me warm. :) We got our passes and left each other to seek warmer areas with plans of going to the game tomorrow.

McKaylee and I went to get food, when we looked at each other we realized how sad we actually looked. Ragged on the outside, bursting with excitement on the inside. It was a day I'll remember forever!

Later that night my amazing cousin invited me to Yogurtland, in Salt Lake. Yes, we drove from Provo to SLC for frozen yogurt. The night after I stood in like for 6+ hours. It was a blast and she's the greatest. (I'm so sad you've left me Dani!)

The game the next day was amazing but was preceeded by a lot of line sitting, some Costa Vida for dinner (on the ground in line), and crazy fans!
In case you were under a rock during that week the Cougars WON! It was a great game and Jimmer showed up the Aztecs. I don't know if I've ever had so much fun at a basketball game. Michael saw a different side of me that night but I guess he liked it because we had a great time that night.

He walked me home that night and I swear I was the happiest girl ever. I wasn't sure when I'd see him again but I knew we both wanted it to be soon. It was the most fun I'd ever had.

To make a long story short (I know, too late), we started dating and have been to gether ever since. He takes great care of me and we love each other like crazy! Right after we got together he got really sick. I figured I had to take good care of him and went in to doting girlfriend meets nurse mode. Some gross broken barriers later (sweat covered jeans), he made it and was semi healthy again.

Valentine's day was so much fun. He gave me a dozen roses and wrote "Word" on the card. Apparently he thought it was that frustrating text which won my heart. :) We went to aunt P's empty house in Draper and made dinner and watched a movie, "P.S. I love you". I pulled out all the stops on picking a cheesy movie.  Our whole lives revolved around each other. We had a blast being on campus together every day.

Then Mike got sick... again. Turns out it was Mono, I promise I didn't give it to him!
For the first time in a long time we weren't together every moment possible so I actually hung out with some other friends.

We went to the top of the SWKT. At 12 stories high it is the highest building in Provo and was to fun looking over the campus. No we didn't throw anything off the top, although we did think about it.

I got to meet Mike's dad and some of his extended family and it was great. They are the nicest people and we had so much fun together. A few weeks later my parents came into town to meet him. They love him and love how happy I am with him. :)

Mike got worse and worse. He missed a whole week of classes and practices. He was on some serious pills for the pain and a bunch of other things. I forced him to drink Throat Coat, which is just about the grossest herbal tea ever. He was a good patient and choked it down.

He still loved me even though I made him drink nasty things. This was a good day when he didn't feel like he was going to die.

He tried to share his mono with me, not the nicest things to do and I'm definitely feeling it now!

First semester was fun but doesn't compare to the last 3 months of my life. :) I can't even believe how much thing have changed and how great things are.

Thanksgiving Weekend!

I can't believe I hadn't been home in 3 months! It was so great to see everyone!! :)

We had classes Monday and Tuesday but I just couldn't bring myself to stay.
McKaylee and I left on Friday right after classes. I am sooo grateful that she wanted to come to Boise and so she could drive us both!

Filling up and getting ready! :)

We were a little excited!

So we headed out and made a stop along the way.... Logan!
Natalie was having a baby shower and I'm so glad I got to go!

We had to grab a bite to eat, and we met this cow!
She got some really cute stuff and it was great to see her.
So we left Logan around 8:30 and headed for Boise!
We arrived in Boise at around 1:30. Dad knew I was coming so he left the door open.
I jumped in Mom's bed and woke her up. She was shocked!
I loved surprising her. :)

We had to hit the mall... of course! so we saw Santa!!

Preston was a good sport and took some pics with us! :)

Lets be honest... he had fun!

 And we definitely did!

So McKaylee left to go back to Alpine on Wednesday so she could have Thanksgiving with her family!
We missed her!

We went to Festival of Trees on Thanksgiving day! It was beautiful and brought back memories!

Mommy and ME! I miss you!

Mom and Dad! I miss you guys soooo much!!!

The sisters! We had a great time together!

We went to every tree together and had an amazing time.
